The history of our Charleston hotel itself comprises a significant part of the area's exciting past. Originally named The Pavilion Hotel (circa 1830), it was the gathering spot of area artists, writers and craftsmen. Edgar Allen Poe chose our historic Charleston inn as his weekly retreat while a soldier stationed at Fort Moultrie. Today The King Charles Inn maintains this significant historical ambiance, while providing its guests with premium services and amenities.

Take a left onto Meeting Street and the Best Western King Charles Inn is one mile on the right. 'From: Highway 17 South. Cross the Ashley River Bridge, bear right, and make a left onto Calhoun Street. Follow Calhoun Street to the intersection of Meeting Street and turn right on Meeting Street. The Best Western King Charles Inn is .5 miles on the right. 'From: Cruise Ship Terminal. Walking Directions. From the driveway to the cruise ship terminal, turn right onto Concord Street.
