Overview: This recently renovated hotel with modern refinement is the winner of the Italian Hospitality Awards 2007 for the 3-star category.

Ideally located for those using public transportation, the hotel is within walking distance of the ruins and the famous Sanctuary. It features a gorgeous garden with lemon and orange trees, and typical Mediterranean plants.

On request the hotel can arrange wonderful daytrips to Naples, Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano, and Mount Vesuvius.

Location Description: Pompeii is known in the world for its terrifying destruction by the explosion of Vesuvius two millennium ago, but few people know that Pompeii of today is a small oasis town with a Cathedral in the centre ‘the Virgin of Miracles’ that recalls many faithful people to gather their prayers every Sunday.
Pompeii is very efficient in satisfying any demanding travellers, both for its key position between Naples and Sorrento, from which one can reach easily all the most tourist place, but also for its public means which work very well.
In fact, Pompeii has got 3 stations, 2 of which are local stations (Circumvesuviana railway) , the first goes around Vesuvius, the second goes along the Coast towards Sorrento. The third Station is the main station (FFSS) that links the main cities of Italy, like Naples, Paestum, Caserta, Rome or Florence.
Less popular (but not less worthy) is Pompeian cookery, which joins fresh local food to an ancient tradition of home cooking, which we are sure you will appreciate!

What a superb place this hotel is and it is all down to the staff. There are 3 young ladies who work on reception who were incredibly friendly and welcoming and who put up with attempts at speaking Italian. There were an older lady and gentleman who we saw on reception during our four night stay who were also very friendly and charming. The room was not large but more than adequate as a place to sleep. Everything worked properly. The only thing I would say could be improved is the breakfast. There was cereal, croissants and toast rolls with jam but nothing savoury, some cheese and ham would be a nice addition. It is convenient for the station and outside noise is minimal. A great place to stay for visiting this area. We would definitely stay there again if visiting Pompei.

What a gem. This hotel is the best value and service we have seen in Italy. The hotel is so convenient from the train station. The rooms are modern, well designed and decorated and impecably clean. The staff so friendly for any local information. Breakfast was simple and adequate. The price we paid was less than half of any other hotel we stayed and yet this hotel we felt the most comfortable in. We stayed 4 night. Pompei is a fantastic base to see Pompeii Ruins, Mt Vesivius, and Amalfi coast is only 30 mins away. I will definately recommend all my friends to go to Hotel Diana.

My husband and I loved this place. The reception we received from the young ladies at the front desk was very warm. The room was spacious, and the bathroom facilities were very good. We loved the warm shower we could take here, after the hustle & bustle of Rome. We would love to go back to this hotel on our next visit to Italy. But one thing that we missed was catching up on any international English news channel - a CNN or a BBC, etc. Would have been nice to stay connected to the rest of the world even while we were chilling out. But overall, a good experience, worth a repeat stay. Ciao!

This was a great hotel close to the Pompei Ruins. We walked from this hotel in about 10 minutes. Laura was very helpful and kind to us. When we were lost driving to our next destination, we finally returned and she drew us a map to get out of the city. She was a fun and interesting person. She even let us leave our car there after we had checked out so we could tour Mt. Vesuveus.

A very pleasant hotel within easy walking distance to archaeological site, shops, and the train. We had no trouble finding the hotel using the site's maps. Staff(particularly Laura)was extremely knowledgeable and friendly and directed us flawlessly to nearby restaurants, banks, and shops. Definitely a find for the price!

lets just say that this must be the easiest hotel to find in pompeii if u get off the train from naples. directly across the road and up a little side street. the manager gave us a map of the town and recommended a place to eat which i thought was very helpful. the room was spotless, adequately sized. it is only a few minutes walk from the centre of the town. it was more than adequate for my needs.

Staff were friendly and service orientated. Room was average size for Italy but for the price a great bargain and immaculate. Close to the main square and Pompeii ruins. Breakfast was fairly typical, rolls and cereal, but fine to start the day. Hotel arranged a cab tour to Vesuvius and an archealogical project in process. The driver spoke only Italian which made the day all the more fun. We also were given free admission to an evening theatre performance at the Grand Theatre in the ruins. Overall this facility exceeded expectations.

The hotel was clean and tidy and the rooms were adequate as a sleeping base. The main problem was the lack of sound proofing which made the room quite noisey. The staff were excellent being friendly and helpfull and always cheerfull.
