Overall stay in the hotel was a very pleasant experience. We enjoyed the stay very much and especially the very friendly service. The only critisism we have is the lack of bathrobes in the rooms. One would expect such an detail to be included in the services in a luxury hotel. We stayed two nights in Verona and concentrated mainly on the food and wine due to the rainy weather. Restaurant recommendations from the hotel reception were 10 points.

Really beautiful hotel in fantastic location, perfect for a special occassion treat. Difficult to find by car and we found the directions provided by hotel a bit misleading. Staff and service were great throughout stay and although a bit pricey I would definately save the pennies for a return visit.

If you are looking for the very worst plumbing in Italy then this is for you. Water surging hot and cold throughout the shower and sink 24/7. Coupled with a superannoying buzz in the audio on all English speaking channels and a nearly inaudible sound level of the program just made it a perfectly awful experience.

The purpose of booking this hotel was a trip to the Verona Opera Festival. We dislike large modern hotels especially in such a historic city. The hotel was lovely and its a pity that we had such a short time to enjoy its facilities. We did feel however that it was very expensive compared to other hotels of the same category but maybe this is due to its uniqueness and its close proximity to the Arena.

VERY difficult to find this hotel when driving a car. Reception staff/concierge services were absolutely outstanding -- very helpful with advice for shopping and restaurants. Decor was a bit over-done for our taste, but very cozy and pleasant surroundings.

A very nice hotel, definately worth a second visit. The only thing i will say is the choice at breakfast seemed to be more geared towards the German market.

We stayed in the Gabbia d'oro on our honey moon in November 1999. We returned in 2002 as a special treat. the Hotel was better this time, and we were meant to feel very welcome. the staff were extremely helpful and arranged for a restaurant place on both evenings. If you can afford it definately stay as its well worth the luxury and expense

MY WIFE AND I HAVE DONE A LOT OF TRAVELING IN THE PAST 15 YEARS. WE HAVE STAYED IN ALL SORTS OF PLACES. NONE OF OUR HOTELS HAS BEEN ANY BETTER THAN OUR STAY AT GABBIA D'ORO. I WOULD GIVE IT MY HIGHEST MARKS AND RECOMMENDATION

Everyone at the Gabbio d'Oro was unbelievable! It is a wonderful hotel and I would recommend it to anyone. Of course, you do pay for it, but it is worth every penny!
