We stayed at Rosita in 2 rooms on the street side and to our surprise they were not noisey, rooms 206 and 207. The rooms were clean and basic, two double beds each (comfortable) and a large shower (but no hot water!). We called the desk to make them aware that we did not have hot water but it was never fixed. The employees were nice and the food in the restaurant was good. Even though we were disappointed with no hot water we would stay here again if we returned to PV. Location can't be beat!

The Front Desk Agents were not friendly, they did not look up when I approached them and when they finally acknowledged me there were no smiles. We had a very basic room (very clean) which faced the street and it was very noisy with traffic. The beds were extra firm. The elevator was very small - it looked like a stand-up freezer and it was very tight with 4 people in it. The location was very convenient! Loved the lobby and restaurant areas -very Mexican and very open. Did not like the chain link fence around the pool area. Would return again as the price is right.

We spent two nights at the historic Hotel Rosita. Staff at the check-in desk did not speak English but the bellmen did. Rooms were basic but clean. Great location at the head of the Malecon. Wonderful authentic Mexico decor and atmosphere. Nice pool. Reasonably priced rooms, drinks and food.

Overall a pretty nice place to stay. The room really needs a lamp though, sounds like a small thing but the lighting in there is way to bright with the lights on and there is no way to dim them.

I really enjoyed the location of this hotel. the restaurant in the hotel has a pretty good breakfast buffett. it was loud on friday and sat nights as we are right next to the public beach and the beginning of the ocean walk. but it had great views and we could hear the waves crash. the pool is small and was very cold when we were there. also surrounded by a chain link ugly fence. there are not enough lounge chairs and most were claimed by 9a by towels. the front desk rarely had towels for the pool when we were there. so i would suggest buying one or bringing one.

We tried to check in at noon, but were told we could not until 1:30 pm. Came back at 1:30 pm and received a room key. The room was not cleaned yet and when we saw the location of the room we asked to be changed. They said they had no more rooms, although there were people checking in receiving rooms. To make a long story short, we were awake all night from the noise on the street and a nearby dance club. Room was not the cleanest.

Small room with mold. Was given an upgrade to a larger room still with black mold. The construction next to hotel gets you up bright and early. Economy room with one bed be careful when booking over the net. The air condition was not working and the rooms have no fans. This is rated but I would not even give it a star !

perfect location; we had a corner room with a great view of the bay; staff was very attentive, good breakfasts; seemed to take a long time for the hot water to make it to our room. We would stay there again.

Hotel very quaint and old world. Beds a bit hard, but close to Malacon. Easy walking to many good restaurants and shopping areas. Would use it again.

Other than a little leaky plumbing and a poor dinner menu, we loved everything. The room was 8.5X12 ft , double bed, color tv, great AC, small bathroom. Maid service was outstanding. Front desk friendly & helpful. Rest/bar staff also friendly, if a bit slow. We would recommend it to anyone. We will go back.

Hotel Rosita as I've been told is one of the oldest in the area.It had serious charm. My girlfriend and I had a great stay at this hotel. The staff was courteous and friendly. The restaurant/bar staff was a lot of fun.The location was in walking distance to old town/romantica zone and Tutifruti (essential). The only negitive things were the inconsistency in hot/cold water and the one time the pool could have used a good cleaning. We'd stay here again and recommend it to anyone who likes an authentic old school Mexican Hotel experience right on the Malecon.

The room was not very nice to stay, it was very scary staying there so I decided not to stay. I stayed at a different hotel.

if your looking for the home town feeling of puerto vallarta and easy access to everything old and new, this would be it, I could watch the locals all night and all day, our room overlooked downtown, wonderful air conditioning, good service, nice neat room plenty of space and sattelite tv, we loved it.

The room was over the street. It was so noisy that I could not sleep. Once you book this you will lose your money.

Hotel is at the start of the Malecon, midways towards south and north of Puerto Vallarta. There are great little hole in the wall places you could eat at with little money (try top floor of the mercado on the left side). You must try the Huaraches at a tent next to the rosita.

16. From: D. S., Visalia CA USA

Staff was courteous/helpful. Grounds were clean as were the rooms. Restaurant staff needs to be more attentive to customer and less of a social club among themselves. Location is great. Overall, it was a very positive experience and I would recommend it to those that don't need a 5 Star to sleep in. Beds were a bit firm, but I enjoy a firm bed. As a frequent traveler to Mexico, this was a good experience and value for the price.

The hotel was very clean, staff was super nice and the location is close to everything you want to do. Brush up on your Spanish because the staff is not fluent and communication can be frustrating. the balcony on my upper level, street side room had a wonderful view of the action strip but was still very quiet. Be prepared to pay a $20 deposit for your room key and $20/night to upgrade to oceanview.
