In addition, all external corridors have been completely redone with new carpets and wall coverings.On level 11, a completely new indoor heated swimming pool, spa bath and sauna have reopened, complemented by a state of the art gymnasium. This area is now enclosed and, with a height of two stories, has stunning views over the surrounding harbour and cityscape.Our new Thai Fusion restaurant, 'Grasshopper' is scheduled for completion on 15th September and will be opened in the last week of the month. This 200-seat outlet will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner and is under the operation of the owners of 'Mai Thai', generally regarded as Auckland's best Thai Restaurant.The Apartments are now at their full height with the last of the concrete floor slabs completed in mid August. The application of the new external glass facade that clads the whole building is progressing on schedule and will be finished in November.In order to get the hotel back to looking normal as soon as we can, the Southern Tower crane will be removed by the middle of December 2007, and the Northern crane (the one closest to the harbour) will come down in the middle of February 2008. Both these cranes will be used to remove the level eleven protective screening fans prior to their dismantling. This is several weeks later than originally scheduled, with minor delays caused by severe storms and unusually high winds over the winter period. Following the dismantling of the cranes, the protective gantries on Swanson Street, Albert Street and Mills Lane that were erected for pedestrian protection will be removed by the end of March 2008.As a part of the completion of the exterior works, the outside of the hotel (levels three to ten) will be high pressure water cleaned and colour matched to the new structure. Details are still to be finalised, but the majority of this work is expected to be undertaken in December and January, with the last of it to be completed by the end of March. This work will be low impact and is expected to be a very similar operation of hotel windows cleaning.**
